Five signs of a church in decline
Perry Noble writes on his website about 5 signs of a church that is declining and that have to do with leadership.
"God speaks clearly in His Word and through His spirit. God's work always requires the commitment of people who put faith into action. God promised the Israelites the Promised Land, but they had to fight for it. A church that refuses to to do what is asked of them and embraces laziness will eventually come in a desert. "
2. Fear of people
"Many leaders in the church trying to make people particularly happy and to be loved." That is not something someone must primarily do. For example, some people are doing what people want in the church, instead of what God wants (not to be confused with what the leader wants). Perry points to Proverbs 29: "People who fear someone lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord, put in a secure fortress."
"When a church or leaders are not able to come out for an error or mistake , it's over."
4. Abuse of volunteers
"When a leader is more focused on what people do in the Church, than what they can be," continues the "quality" of people work backwards. A leader must not let people do impose too many things.
5. A loss of focus
A church must continue focus on what their call is. It can be dangerous when a leader in a church suddenly going to focus on a different ministry. Thus he neglects soon people who need time and attention. "A church is then quickly became a place where a pastor is to promote himself primarily , rather than leading the group of people that God has brought together and who need a shepherd."
